This is the wide version of our Light 5-Pocket Pants—ultralight, super fast-drying, and incredibly comfortable. Made with the same Pertex Equilibrium, it feels so light it’s almost like wearing nothing at all.
Designed with ample ventilation, the spacious silhouette enhances airflow and allows for natural movement, ensuring all-day comfort on the trail.

Refined over two years of field testing, these wide hiking pants were developed through two distinct approaches—drawing inspiration from Japanese Monpe, traditional work pants known for their loose fit and ease of movement, and an innovative balloon structure. The result is a fusion of both approaches, creating a proprietary pattern and silhouette that offers exceptional freedom of movement on the trail.

Yamatomichi 5-Pocket design can neatly store your map, snack, wallet, and other items you need during hiking, without interfering with your leg movement.

Especially, our smartphone pocket at the side is so well-positioned that it fits your phone while keeping it securely in place without bouncing around when running. The map pocket is large enough to store the water bottle.

Pertex Equilibrium is made with a special dual-weave design that improves comfort and performance. On the inside, thicker yarns are woven in stripes, creating tiny air gaps between the fabric and your skin. This helps prevent stickiness and improves breathability, keeping you comfortable even in warm conditions.

Although the fabric is thin and ultralight, its reinforced ripstop threads add extra durability. It also has a slight stretch thanks to a special crimped yarn, allowing easy movement for activities like stepping up on trails.

Some areas use a blend of nylon and polyester, which creates a subtle textured look, giving the fabric a natural, heathered appearance.

Pertex Equilibrium

Pertex Equilibrium, the fabric used in the Light 5-Pocket Shorts and Pants, is exceptionally thin and lightweight.

While its ripstop construction adds durability, sharp objects like rocks and branches may tear the fabric. Take extra care when navigating rocky ridges or resting on rough surfaces.

• Wash at 40°C or below.
• Wash separately or in a laundry net.
• Hang dry in the shade.
• Tumble dry low (max 60°C).
• Avoid fabric softeners and bleach.
• Iron on low without steam.
• Do not dry clean.
• High heat may cause shrinkage.
