HLC Taiwan

In Taipei, Samplus serves as an HLC Place*, with John Lin from Miasan Outdoor Center as the ambassador. They actively conduct hiking programs across Taiwan, as well as introductory courses and workshops geared towards beginners.

*Yamatomichi HLC PLACE is the hub for our HLC activities in each area. It will serve as a place to hold programs, meet and exchange knowledge with other ultralight hikers.

HLC Taiwan ambassador

After completing the Yamnuska Mountain Skills Semester in Canada, where he mastered Western mountaineering techniques, he returned home and founded the Miasan Outdoor Center. There, he teaches hiking and winter mountaineering, while also overseeing mountain lodges. For over 20 years, he has immersed himself in learning sustainable living from Taiwan's indigenous Bunong people, gaining profound expertise in permaculture and deepening his connection to nature.
